Linux Mint Mirror (apt archive) in Iran

Linux Mint mirror (apt archive) — For Linux Mint updates in Iran, Rasanegaar Mirror keeps Mint and Ubuntu repos close to your desktops.

About Linux Mint

Linux Mint is a popular Ubuntu-based desktop — Cinnamon, MATE, and Xfce plus Mint’s own packages ride on the Ubuntu archive. Every apt update moves real traffic.

Smooth updates need both Mint and Ubuntu repos reachable; without a nearby mirror, installs and upgrades from abroad drag.

Manual steps

  1. Back up your APT sources.
  2. Point Mint APT sources at the Rasanegaar Mint mirror:

    https://mirror.rasanegaar.com/linuxmint

  3. On Mint 22 (Ubuntu 24.04 base) and newer, sources are usually DEB822 under this directory — set Ubuntu URIs to the Rasanegaar mirror too:

    /etc/apt/sources.list.d/

    https://mirror.rasanegaar.com/ubuntu

  4. On older releases, classic sources.list is common — replace Ubuntu hosts with mirror.rasanegaar.com:

    /etc/apt/sources.list

    mirror.rasanegaar.com

  5. Refresh package indexes:

    sudo apt update

Updating Linux Mint in Iran

Linux Mint updates in Iran against the local mirror usually finish faster than official mirrors — especially when both Mint and Ubuntu pull from the same host.

After switching, keep your normal APT routine; only the package origin changed.
